2006 Brown Tobiano APHA Registered Paint Mare
Good looking, good minded, well bred homozygous broodmare prospect by Raise Your Rocket and out of a very nice daughter of My Indian Money.
When this filly was born, we knew for sure we had a great cross going with Raise Your Rocket on My Indian Money daughters! She's correct, pretty and very, very smart.
Unfortunately, we learned just how good-minded she is when she was a yearling and got a small wire cut that got infected. It ended up requiring surgery to remove lesions from a hind leg's tendon sheath and because of that we won't guarantee her sound. She doesn't limp and it's perfectly possible that she is sound to ride. However, we will not sell her to be used as a riding horse unless you have a pre-purchase done.
We really have intended to keep this filly ever since she got hurt. For that reason, we just have not aimed a camera at her since she was a baby. You can't imagine how many hundreds of pictures we looked through to try to find one. . . they do not exist! This is all we could find - and it was marked for deletion because it's so bad. It was taken when she was a two year old and she has a nice, long, heavy muscled hip now. Of course all our horses are long haired and it is sloppy and filthy and foggy right now so we aren't sure when we'll get a chance to take a better photo.
She has some paw prints on her side and so we assume she is homozygous for tobiano. If you want us to have her tested, we'll reimburse you if she turns out to be heterozygous.
Her dam, My Lunch Money, is an incredible mare. She's a big, gorgeous, sweet mare that has a fancy colt every year. This is a picture of her with this filly only a couple days old. Her dam was also a big, gorgeous mare who was an own daughter of the Champion and National Champion Barrel Racing sire Western Native. Her dam, Gentle Reminder was a daughter of the great Captain Blood and a Champion producer herself.
This filly is about 15 hands and built very stout.
Right now, we can't offer a breeding for her this spring because she's a granddaughter of the only stallion we own. If that changes, we would be open to options. $3,500.
