Big Time Slew

2016 Brown Tobiano APHA Gelding

Big Time Slew - tall Paint gelding
Photo taken at about 35 months of age. He’s just in pasture condition after a tough winter.

This colt is really something special!

First, he’s unusually big for a Paint horse!  His sire is 16.3 and his dam is 16.1.  He sticked at 15.3 this last winter.  In addition to tall, he’s got a huge hip, lots of foot and bone, and he’s very deep bodied.  He’s just a very fancy colt in general.

If you are looking for a flashy colt to ride English or you want an extra-big one for something else . . . please give this colt a good look.  He’s got a friendly, people-loving disposition like all of the Slew colts do.  His dam’s sire was an exceptionally smart horse that sired amazing broodmares.  He was not well known nationally, but he sired some very, very nice horses.

This colt was foaled in late June, so we really don’t want to see him head to the track where he’d have to compete against colts six months older.

This colt really likes people, but he hasn’t had a bunch of work done with him.  He has had about 10 rides.  He’s willing and quiet.  He did so well we felt he was at a good place to stop for now and we are confident that a trainer can go on with him and have good results.   He’s spent time out in a herd, in rough country learning to be a horse, learning to handle his feet, and to get along in a herd.  You’ll love what that does for a young horse.

Sold, thank you Dan! He’s got a great home.

Big Time had 10 rides during the winter, was off for several months, had a couple of rides and we took this video.  He’s very green but look at him move!

Here’s photos of him as he’s grown.  And grown . . . .
