Late 2020 APHA Solid Black Gelding

This colt was foaled Sept 27, 2020. While that’s not our traditional foaling date, we had a reason for it. His dam raised her own foal in 2019 plus an orphan. We thought that earned her a late foaling date for the following year.

He’s a real charmer. With his momma’s cute head and his sire’s expressive eyes, he’s hard not to like right away. He’s got a big, powerful hind end. Definitely got his grandsire’s good bone. If you like them stout, here he is! He is really quick footed and athletic. I’d expect him to get to be about 15 or 15.1 hands and he’s already very stout. (I have to admit that Perks’ foals can surprise me and get bigger than I expect.)

This mare’s foals frequently make people’s favorite saddle horses and we sure think this one will be as well. He’s going to have plenty of motor for now but he’ll probably make a youth step up horse after some years and miles – he sure came around quickly once we got ahold of him. He learns so fast he’s a lot of fun to work with. This colt won’t be the fastest Perks colt but if you want a really good minded colt with a lot of substance, you sure can’t go wrong here.
